The Cape Wind Energy Project is an excellent example of what can be done now to make the transition to renewable energy production without further significant environmental costs. It will stand as a model of progress by the U.S. in meeting its global obligations to reduce greenhouse gases and a model of leadership and compromise by the residents of Cape Cod to reduce air pollution.

Letter: Sen. Kennedy should stop fighting Cape Wind Thursday, April 13, 2006
By Erik Gehring
It is one thing to oppose Cape Wind in good faith, despite the hypocrisy this shows from someone who claims to support renewable energy. It is another thing altogether to surreptitiously change the rules at the 11th hour via a profoundly undemocratic measure slipped into the Coast Guard Reauthorization Bill, vital spending legislation that needs to be passed.
During the filibuster debate last year you said, "Every child knows that you don’t change the rules in the middle of the game."
